Artist’s Statement
Pieces of “I” is an exploration of the self, done so through experimentation with the historical photo techniques cyanotype and Van Dyke Brown. The use of laser-printer negatives (seen in "Piece of 'I'" and "Self Portrait") and Ortho Film negatives (used in "Let Me In to Let Me Out") are the result of my experimentation in creating large-format negatives for use in contact printing.
What began as a purely experimental project became one that takes both a serious and comical look into my own persona.
